Simple living often begins with small choices. Over time, those choices shape the way we cook, care for our homes, and take care of ourselves.

The JARS Method grew from my desire to simplify daily routines and focus on what actually matters. Instead of complicated systems or expensive products, it’s about using simple ingredients, making practical choices, and creating a home that feels calm and intentional.

It’s built around four ideas.

J: Just Ingredients

A: Affordable Living

R: Real Routines

S: Simple Home

Just Ingredients

The first is choosing recognizable ingredients whenever possible.

Whether it’s cooking, cleaning, or self-care, most everyday products can be made or replaced with just a few basics. Sugar, oils, herbs, vinegar, and baking soda can cover more ground than most people realize. Using simple ingredients reduces unnecessary additives and makes routines easier to understand and manage. Over time, it naturally creates a more mindful home.

Affordable Living

This approach shouldn’t feel expensive or out of reach.

One of the things I love most about it is that the ingredients at the center of it are affordable and versatile. A few pantry staples can serve multiple purposes around the home. Baking soda and vinegar for natural cleaning. Oils and herbs for cooking and homemade skincare. Focusing on multi-purpose ingredients reduces clutter and keeps spending in check.

Real Routines

This is about building routines that are actually sustainable, not just ones that look good on paper.

For me that means simplifying what I do every day until it feels natural and easy to come back to. A cleaning routine that doesn’t require ten different products. A self-care routine that uses what I already have. A morning that has a little bit of intention without feeling like another checklist.

Real routines aren’t perfect. They shift depending on the season of life you’re in. But when they’re built around simple ingredients and honest habits, they’re a lot easier to keep.

Simple Home

A simple home doesn’t mean having less for the sake of minimalism.

It means keeping what serves a purpose and contributes to a calm, functional space. Using fewer ingredients and products naturally leads to fewer items in the home. Routines become easier. Spaces feel more organized and more peaceful.

A Simpler Way of Living

The JARS Method isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about making small, thoughtful changes that support a more natural and intentional life. Simple ingredients, affordable solutions, real food, a calm home. When those things come together, everyday routines start to feel easier and more meaningful.

Sometimes it begins with something as small as a jar filled with the right ingredients.
